Story of Responsibility: Bags of Gold, Sept. 9-15

Matthew 25:14-30

Message Outline

God owns every resource we have

“and entrusted HIS wealth to them”

God entrusts us with His resources

According to our ability

each according to his ability

For a limited time

“Again it will be like a man going on a journey, . . . after a long time the master of those servants returned.”

To use for His Work

“put his money to work” or

“dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money”

God holds us accountable eternally for how we use his resources
19 the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

If we use His resources faithfully, we gain.

Commend: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

More responsibility: “you have been faithful with a  few things; I will put you in charge of many things”

Eternal Destiny: “come and share your master’s happiness”

If we use His resources poorly, we lose.

Condemn: “You wicked, lazy servant!”

Remove responsibility: “take the bag of gold from him”

Eternal Destiny: “throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness.”
