Group Discussion Questions

  1. How do you feel about teaching on the “end-times”? What has your experience been with biblical prophecy about the last days? The Antichrist?
  2. Daniel’s vision in chapter 11 was fulfilled exactly in history. How does the fulfillment of biblical prophecy increase your faith?
  3. What questions or concerns do you have about what will happen in the future according to Daniel 11-12? As a group help each other.
  4. According to chapter 12, what happens after people die? At the resurrection? Who is raised? What happens to them?
  5. What are the characteristics of “the wise” in 11:32-35 and 12:3, 10 (Bruce mentioned three in his sermon)? How could you grow in these characteristics? Which one do you need the most?
  6. We know the Big God wins in the end. How can we win in the end with the Big God? What does winning look like for us?
  7. What have you learned about the Big God in our study of Daniel? How would you describe the Big God as he is portrayed in Daniel?

5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:5-9.

  1. Are there people you work with or go to school with, who always seem to get their way or what they want? How are you tempted to feel about them? How should we treat them and why?
  2. How does the truth of Proverbs 10:9,16; 11:18-21 compare with what Daniel shares about the king described in Daniel 11:36-39 and 11:45?
  3. Read Daniel 12:1-3. What happens at the end of time as we know it according to this passage?
  4. Whose names are written in the Book of Life (John 3:16)? What is the promise to those whose names are written there?
  5. Until the times described in Daniel chapters 11 and 12 what is our opportunity and responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ (Daniel 12:3)?
  6. With whom specifically can you share the promise associated with the Book of Life described in Daniel 12:1?
  7. What are your big “take-aways” from our study in Daniel?
