Big Questions Seminar
July 15 and 29

Do you wrestle with nagging questions about faith? The Big Questions seminar answers questions about the uniqueness of Christ and Christianity, how it relates to other religious traditions and the surrounding culture. Find out more and register online. If you have a question you want answered at this seminar, write it on your care card and drop it in the offering bag. 

New Believer’s Class
Children’s Pastor, David Klippert-Rowe, is hosting a New Believer’s Class on Sunday, July 20, for any child who has professed faith in Christ and would like to know what’s next. This class will meet from 10:55 – 11:40 am, during the second service, in Room 170. Join your child for this 45-minute presentation that will help them learn how to grow in their walk with Jesus. Register online.

Men’s Breakfast
Join us for our monthly breakfast this Saturday, July 12, 8 am in Room 201 (The Attic) and hear Walter Kerr share, “Gideon – A Mighty Man of Valor.” Coffee will be ready at 7:30 am. Cost is $5 at the door for a hearty breakfast and there’s no charge for newcomers.

Science Camp
July 14 and 16 – for kids who have completed 1st-6th grades

Come and learn about electricity, insulation, air pressure, forces, motion and more as we discover the properties of potatoes and their product packaging. Register online today!

National Night Out

Watch the World Cup
The Spanish ministry is hosting a watching party for the final championship match, Sunday, July 13 at 12:30 pm in the Gym. This bilingual event will kickoff with a family style potluck, then we’ll live-stream the game at 2 pm. Bring your favorite tacos or dish to share. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend! Group Discussion Questions

  1. How would you explain John 1:1 to a six year old to help them understand it?
  2. John 1:18 states that “no one has seen God but the Son.” How do you explain this to someone new to the Bible?
  3. Why is important to see Jesus as God?
  4. Why can’t there be more than one way to God?
  5. What ways has social media changed the way you interact with your friends? What are some good changes? What are some bad changes?
  6. Do you picture Jesus as King? How does that impact your life?
  7. How would answer the question “Who do you say I am” (Mark 8:29)?


Family Discussion Questions

  1. When you think of who Jesus is, how would you describe him? What do you know about him?
  2. Read Hebrews 1:1-3 and Colossians 1:19; 2:9 together as a family. Who is Jesus and what has God done through him?
  3. Who are the people you love most in the world? How do you love them? How do they know YOU love them? How did Jesus show his love for you (Romans 5:8)?
  4. What does “taking someone for granted” mean? Think about the passages you read above, do we sometimes take Jesus for granted? What should our appropriate response to him be?
  5. Why is Jesus important (John 3:16)? Why is he important to YOU (1 John 1:9)? Have you made a decision to make Jesus your Savior? What’s stopping you?
  6. Are there people in your life who need to hear the truth of John 3:16 from you? What’s stopping you from sharing the truth with them?
  7. What questions do you have about Jesus? Who can you talk to or what next steps can you take to help you grow to be more like him?
