What’s Going On

Sermon Series Oct. 19–Nov. 16

We’re going there — we’re going to talk about sexuality, and because we are people guided by the Word, we’re going to the Bible for answers. Discover a fresh biblical view of sexuality and learn how to have gracious, truth-filled conversations on this topic.

Parents, we are gearing the sermons towards 6th grade and above. Promiseland is available for children from age 0 to 5th grade.

What Are Your Questions? | Sexuality Q & A
Oct. 26 and Nov. 9, 5–7 pm

Group Discussion Questions

  1. Share about a time when you had to raise financial support for something you were passionate about. What emotions did you encounter? How was the experience? What did you learn?
  2. Share about a full-time Christian Worker you help(ed) to financially support.
  3. Explain the three biblical models in your own words: the Levites (Numbers 18), Jesus (Luke 8:1–3; Matthew 10:9-10; Luke 10:7) and Paul (1 Corinthians 9). What specific things were covered? What was a new concept to you?
  4. In your own words, explain the biblical commands related to the Greek term “propempō” (to send/help/assist on one’s way) from: Acts 15:3; Romans 15:24; 1 Corinthians 16:6, 11; 2 Corinthians 1:16; Titus 3:13; 3 John 6. List the different nuances of propempō you find.
  5. Explain the Christ Fellowship value, “We Support Our Own.”
  6. Address the “Big Pink Elephant” tied to the funding our own Global Workers as it relates to your life.
  7. How might 2 Corinthians 9:6, 8, 10-11 help you address the financial stress and strain you personally experience?
  8. Who is God calling you to step out in faith to support? How do you plan to go about it? When will you start?

Family Discussion Questions

  1. Find a map of the world or a globe and find a country you’ve never heard of before. Use Wikipedia to find some interesting things about it, including the country’s main religion (found in the demographic section).
  2. If this country’s main religion is Christianity, how did they come to know about Jesus? How will the people who don’t know Jesus there come to know him? Read Matthew 28:18-20. What does Jesus tell his disciples to do? Who are Jesus’ disciples today?
  3. What does 3 John 1:5-8 say about supporting global workers? Who supports them (Acts 15:3)?
  4. Read Philippians 4:10-20. How would you summarize what Paul is saying to the Philippians? What is he saying to you?
  5. What are the consequences of us not sharing the good news about Jesus with those who do not know him (John 3:16)?
  6. How can you come alongside those who are doing God’s work? How can you support what they are doing for Christ? Is there a global worker for Christ that you and your family could support?
  7. Who can you be a “missionary” to in your community, at school, at work, in the world?
