Engage God Individually, Dec. 24-30

Discussion Questions

  1. At Christ Fellowship, what are the four practices of a Christ follower? Draw the X individually, then check your work as a group. Do you have it down?
  2. Have you ever had a daily habit of time with God in his Word and prayer? If so share about your experiences, and what it has meant to you.
  3. Why is it valuable to engage God individually on a daily basis? In other words, what are important benefits of daily time with God?
  4. Practically what have you done or hope to do to engage God individually? Where do you meet God? When? What do you do in your time?
  5. Hand out Study Guides in your group, or go to CFhome.org to download the pdf, then go through a day together so everyone experiences it and sees how it works.
  6. What will you do to engage God individually in 2018?

To know God better

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Psalm 42:1-2

To follow Christ and be transformed by the Spirit

. . . reviving the soul . .  . making wise the simple . . .  giving joy to the heart Psalm 19

To be ready to help others find and follow Christ

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:4

Follow Jesus’ example

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35; Matthew 14:23; Luke 5:16

Train (gymnasticize) yourself for godliness

Train yourself to be godly.  For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.  1 Timothy 4:7-8
