Betrayal And Denial Overcome By Love, Jan. 28 – Feb. 3

Discussion Questions

  1. Why do you think some people in America have a negative view of Evangelical Churches, and Evangelical Christians? Are their perceptions right or wrong?
  2. Read John 13:18-20. What does Jesus know? Why does he tell his disciples? How does Jesus describe himself? What is our role as his followers according to verse 20?
  3. Read John 13:21-30. In your own words re-tell the story of what happened at this meal. What did Jesus say and do? What did Satan do? What did Judas do?
  4. Read John 13:31-32. Notice the contrast between “night” in verse 30 and “glory” in verse 32. How is Jesus glorified?
  5. Read John 13:33-34. What is the new command? How is it new? What is the impact of our love for one another?
  6. How could our love for one another counter people’s negative view of Christians?
  7. How can you grow in your love, in your personal relationships, marriage, family, small group, church, and in your love for lost people? Where do you most need to grow?
